Watsonville, CA – Two Killed in Crash on San Miguel Canyon Road (Co Rd G12)

Watsonville, CA (September 30, 2020) – A vehicle collision in the Watsonville area claimed the lives of two victims and left several others injured. At approximately 10 p.m., on September 26, the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on San Miguel Canyon Road (County Road G12).

Reports from authorities show that 21-year-old Joel Gonzalez-Garcia was driving a Chevy truck on San Miguel Canyon Road when his vehicle crashed head-on with a Nissan sedan.

The driver and passenger in the Nissan were both killed instantly in the accident. Four passengers inside the pickup truck, and Garcia, were all transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
