Vernalis, CA – Irvin Medina & Luis Chicas Injured in Crash on CA-132
Vernalis, CA (September 9, 2020) – A collision reported in San Joaquin County left several people injured on Monday and claimed the lives of two other victims. Just after 4 p.m., on September 7, the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on California State Highway 132.
Reports provided by authorities show that two vehicles collided on California State Highway 132 on the area between River Road and McCracken Road. Preliminary investigations from the California Highway Patrol show that 29-year-old Cecilia Delgadillo was driving a green 2001 Honda Civic east on California State Highway 132 when the vehicle crashed into a white 2000 Ford E-350 van.
The driver of the van, who was identified as 46-year-old Luis Chicas, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp for treatment of injuries.
Delgadillo and her passenger, a 10-year-old female, were both killed in the accident. A 2-year-old and an 8-year-old involved in the accident were transported to area hospitals of treatment of serious injuries. Another passenger, 34-year-old Irvin Medina was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
