Saratoga, CA – One Killed & Five Injured in W Valley Fwy Crash

Saratoga, CA (August 13, 2020) – A crash late Wednesday evening claimed one victim’s life and left several others injured in the Saratoga area. Just after 11:20 p.m., on August 12, the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on West Valley Freeway.

Reports provided by authorities show that a gray pickup truck and a white sedan collided on West Valley Freeway near the bridge for Saratoga Avenue. The crash resulted in extensive delays throughout the area as emergency crews rendered aid and worked to clear the scene. One victim was immediately declared deceased at the scene.

Two victims inside the sedan and two victims inside the pickup truck, as well as one witness, were all injured. Three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment of critical injuries, one victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, while the witness was treated at the scene. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
