San Rafael, CA (July 5, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Friday evening claimed one victim’s life. Just after 7 p.m., on July 3, emergency crews in San Rafael responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on North San Pedro Road.
According to reports, a bicyclist was traveling down North San Padre Road when they were struck by a SMART train near crossing by Civic Center Drive. The bicyclist suffered critical injuries in the accident. Ambulances responded to the scene of the crash to transport the 36-year-old male to Marin General Hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the victim later succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
