San Francisco, CA (August 18, 2020) – A fire incident on Sunday claimed one victim’s life in The City’s Bayview District. At approximately 5:45 p.m., on August 16, the San Francisco Fire Department responded to the scene of a fire incident on Fitzgerald Avenue.

Reports show that a fire broke out at the residence located at 1160 Fitzgerald Avenue for unknown reasons. The fire occurred in the rear of the three-story building and quickly emitted smoke throughout the premises and poured out the windows of the property. One person inside the home at the time of the fire was fatally injured. Crews spent roughly one hour battling the one-alarm fire before taking control of the situation. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
