San Francisco, CA – Motorcyclist Struck by Vehicle on Van Ness Ave

San Francisco, CA – Motorcyclist Struck by Vehicle on Van Ness Ave

San Francisco, CA (September 30, 2020) – A vehicle collision in the Van Ness – Civic Center section of Cleveland left one person injured. Just after 6 p.m., on September 28, the San Francisco Fire Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Van Ness Avenue.

Reports show that a motorcyclist was riding through the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Sutter Street when their vehicle collided with a white SUV.

The impact of the crash sent the rider up onto the sidewalk where they suffered unknown injuries. Paramedics provided treatment to the victim at the scene before transporting them to an area hospital for further assistance.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victim injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.

Motorcycle Accidents in California

Every year, thousands of people are hospitalized as a result of motorcycle accidents in the state of California. Unlike most other collisions, these accidents are more likely to result in life-threatening injuries for victims. The fact that the riders are completely exposed leaves them vulnerable to the impact of larger and heavier vehicles.

Wearing a helmet may be beneficial for people who strike their heads in collisions, but they provide no protection to the rest of the body. As a result, these accidents leave thousands of people throughout our state with debilitating injuries each year. Many riders sustain traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and broken bones that force them out of work for extended periods to recover. Victims are often forced to go through months of therapy for their injuries. Even with treatment, there is no guarantee that a victim will fully recover from their injuries. These accidents often leave people with overwhelming mental, physical, and financial pain and suffering. Many victims involved in motorcycle accidents are left permanently disabled. As a result of disabling injuries, they are forced to endure the mental, physical, and financial consequences indefinitely. In some cases, victims are able to pursue legal options available to them to obtain compensation from at-fault drivers to help cover the costs they face moving forward. Working with a California motorcycle accident lawyer is a victim’s best bet for getting the justice they deserve.
