Merced, CA – One Person Killed in Crash on W 9th St
Merced, CA (August 3, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Saturday evening claimed one victim’s life in the Merced area. At approximately 6:50 p.m., on August 1, officers with the Merced Police Department responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on West 9th Street.
According to reports, a drunk driver in a black 2014 Camaro was traveling through the intersection of West 9th Street and V Street at a high rate of speed when the vehicle sped through a red light and crashed into two other vehicles. One male involved in the crash sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene of the crash. A second victim incurred serious injuries in the accident.
