Livingston, CA – Eight Workers Die at Foster Farms on Davis St
Livingston, CA (September 3, 2020) – The circumstances leading up to the death of eight employees exposed to Covid-19 remain under investigation at this time. On September 2, the Foster Farms company issued a closure of their Livingston Poultry Processing Facility, which is located on Davis Street in the Merced area.
Reports show that approximately 390 workers tested positive for COVID-19 since August 12 at the facility. The rate of infection remained at around 1% as the company battled to manage the spread.
The plant closure was ordered after the eighth worker succumbed to the disease. The plant has since expanded its requirements for testing in order to identify workers who have COVID-19 in order to mitigate the spread.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the spread of the virus within the plant, as well as the death of the eight workers, remains underway.
