Butte County, CA – 16-Year-Old Boy Killed in Fire Incident at Berry Creek

Sacramento, CA – Child injured in Residential Fire on East Parkway

Butte County, CA (September 11, 2020) – A wildfire in the Berry Creek area has claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy, according to reports.

On September 9, the family of a 16-year-old male reported him missing in the Berry Creek neighborhood just after the North Complex Fire tore through the area. Crews worked for several days to search for the teen and several others who had gone missing. On September 10, authorities confirmed locating three of the ten people who had previously been reported missing.

On September 11, one of the bodies located was determined to be the body of the 16-year-old teen who was reported missing in the area. DNA confirmed the identity of the teen, according to local reports. At this time, the incident remains under investigation with the police.
