Berkeley, CA – Crash on Eastshore Fwy (I-80) Claims One Life
Berkeley, CA (August 22, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Berkeley area on Wednesday claimed one victim’s life. Just after 3 p.m., on August 19, the California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80, the Eastshore Freeway.
Reports provided by CHP troopers show that a green Toyota Tercel was driving on the eastbound side of Interstate 80 when it collided with a black Lexus IS 350 near the on-ramp for Gilman Street. The impact of the crash sent the Toyota into the center divider and careening across the road until it collided with a blue Ford Ranger SUV. The impact of the crash caused significant damages to the Toyota. Paramedics responded to the site of the crash and attempted life-saving measures on the male driver of the Toyota. Crews were unsuccessful in their attempts. As a result, the driver ended up passing away at the scene of the crash. No other injuries were reported in this accident. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the man who lost his life in this accident.
Fatal Car Accidents in California
Every day, millions of people across the state of California utilize motor vehicles to travel from place to place. Although this method of transportation is relatively safe, we cannot ensure that others sharing the road are going to act responsibly. Thousands of people throughout our state end up losing their lives in preventable accidents due to the reckless actions of others. Losing a loved one in a collision can have a devastating impact on a family. Not only are they forced to endure overwhelming mental and emotional consequences, but many families are forced to deal with the loss of an income source and tens of thousands of dollars on funeral arrangements and burial services. When victims lose their lives in accidents caused by negligent drivers, their families should immediately reach out to a wrongful death lawyer California. Families may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate some of the financial burdens they face after an unexpected loss.
